I live with my two greyhounds, Star and Mimi. In the past, I have adopted a number of elderly rescue dogs with age related health conditions and mobility issues.  This began my quest to find research backed therapies that could dramatically improve my own dogs’ health and wellbeing.
My journey began with clinical canine massage, which I found made a big difference to my dogs’ comfort, happiness and quality of life. I came across canine conditioning while looking for ways to provide further support for my massage clients, many of which have sore, tight lower backs – just like humans!
My research led me to understand that, like a lot of people, many dogs have weak core muscles, leading to bad posture, resulting in the compensatory issues and injuries that I was seeing in dogs attending my massage clinic.

As a runner, I go for regular massages and undertake strength and conditioning training and know first-hand the positive impact that both of these elements can have. It makes perfect sense to me that if it works for me, it could also work for my dogs; and it does!

The best thing to show the transformation this course has had on my dog is to compare her before and after photos. My dog Luna had a very curved spine, mistaken for a spotty whippet instead of a dalmatian on more than one occasion believe it or not. As you can see, the canine conditioning course has improved her topline dramatically by strengthening her core. Her back is now a lot flatter, she no longer looks uncomfortable and she is a lot happier in herself. Luna absolutely loved doing this course and hops straight to attention whenever the equipment comes out. She doesn’t stop wagging her tail the whole session and her recall has even improved out on walks because she associates me with all that fun.

Jen was lovely, explained things clearly and was always
available on WhatsApp in between our sessions to watch
videos and provide feedback to make sure we were doing
things correctly. She was great with Luna and I’m pretty sure Luna would happily have gone home with Jen too. If you do dog sports such as canicross, agility, flyball or
scentwork then this is a great way to strengthen your dog’s core to keep them from injuring themselves. But even if you don’t do dog sports and you are looking for something to do with your dog that will strengthen your bond and also provide mental and physical stimulation for your dog then this is a great option. I’m planning to take my other dogs through this course too as they do canicross and with stronger cores they will be much less
likely to suffer injuries. Happy dog and happy owner here, I definitely recommend this course. Emily, Edinburgh
