Dr Annika Carraher
BSc BVSc MRCVS
Specialising in Pain management,
rehabilitation and canine conditioning.
I graduated from Liverpool University Veterinary School in 2009, following a BSc in Animal Science and Welfare. I have worked in mixed, equine and now part time in small animal practice. In 2017 I studied Veterinary Chiropractic with the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC) and Acupuncture with the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA). And in 2023 Canine Rehabilitation with SVPS Education. Becoming a Certified Canine Conditioning Coach in 2025. My corner stone belief is that there has been limitations in the prevention and treatment of injuries in pet and sports dogs. Utilising conditioning and my therapy work I am aiming to change this. My aim is to integrate these techniques into preventative and rehabilitation care of all animals in my care, to ensure the best possible outcome and future success. I have been involved in agility with my previous dog and many clients dogs, and now Gundog and scent work with my fab labrador ‘Harper’. |

Teaching Harry the exercises were rewarding as he loves to learn new things.
It was a good opportunity and excuse to spend dedicated time with Harry, if only 15mins at a time but it all helps with our relationship.

Testimonial
Having participated in Annika’s foundation canine fitness programme, I felt extremely nervous to start, as Pepper gets very anxious about vet visits and being handled.
Annika was fully aware of this and let Pepper set the pace during her assessments on both occasions… cooperative care was foremost in Annikas mind.
To my surprise and relief, Pepper managed to relax enough around Annika to engage with her, which allowed me to observe how the exercises should be done.
Annika gave clear instructions and also provided helpful videos of her dog Harper demonstrating each exercise as a reminder. She also took the time to watch me perform the exercises and offered practical suggestions to make things easier for both Pepper and I.
Over the following weeks, Annika consistently monitored our progress and adapted the exercises further. I saw a noticeable improvement in Pepper’s and core mobility.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Annika.
Jane and Pepper.
I’ve really enjoyed having something structured to work too and watching Kito improve.
Can’t wait to do more!!!
